Cypress Airways (Charlie Airlines) was officially reborn on 1 June 2017. Launched by S7 Airlines, the new Cypriot airline will be based at Larnaca International Airport and serve five destinations.

The airline takes its name from the former Cypriot carrier after securing the rights to use the name and trademark. The new carrier will make use of the former logo as well as incorporating an olive branch as part of their corporate branding and aircraft livery.

Glad to see that Cyprus Airways is returning (at least kind of). Also, I've noticed that the S7 group is getting quite big.

I like that, but the St Petersburg destination seems an odd choice, I wonder why. I once did a custom model in the old Cyprus livery.

I find the destination odd as well. I can only assume it links the new airline with its Russian benefactors. Maybe a charter/holiday type of service as well?

That makes sense. I think the Mediterranean resorts are fairly popular with Russian tourists.
