https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/jan/18/norway-aims-for-all-short-haul-flights-to-be-100-electric-by-2040

Norway's airport operator has stated that they want all short-haul flights in the country to be flown using electric aircraft by 2040. They plan to tender a short route by 2025. Certainly seems like a bit of a pipe dream today, but is it really that far off?

Cars are already going electric, it seems like every day now a new manufacturer announces a major investment in EVs. That, along with investments in battery grid storage, is not only driving down the price of battery technology but also increasing battery density. Both Airbus and startup Zunum Aero are seriously working on the problem. Given enough will, the problems this goal faces can most likely be solved.
